Poached Figs, Nectarines, and Plums

Serves 4



½ cup 100% apple juice

1 tbsp. honey

4 fresh figs, quartered

2 nectarines, peeled and quartered

2 plums, halved and pitted

2 tbsp. 100% orange juice

½ tsp. ground cinnamon (optional)



  1. Heat the apple juice and honey in a sauce pan on stove over medium heat
  2. Add the figs, nectarines, and plums and bring to a boil
  3. Reduce to a simmer, cover and let cook for 5 minutes
  4. Lift the fruit out with a slotted spoon and place them in a medium bowl
  5. Bring the juice back to a boil in the pan, add the cinnamon, then let the mixture simmer and reduce into a thick syrup
  6. Pour the syrup over the fruit, then add the fresh orange juice
  7. Serve warm
  8. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3 or 4 days



  • Goes great with vanilla yogurt or frozen yogurt
  • Optional topping of slivered almonds or other nuts
